Dr. Frank Pappas and Dr. Dean Cherpelis and the team of Bell Family Dental have been serving the dental needs of Bayside for over fifteen years. We opened our doors with a small two operatory facility and have grown to a five operatory state of the art dental office equipped with the latest dental technologies.

Dr. Frank Pappas was born and raised in Bayside, NY. He attended Bayside High School, graduated with a bachelor’s degree from New York University and went to Howard University College of Dentistry where he obtained his DDS degree. After completing his hospital residency at Montefiore and Bronx Municipal Hospital, he went into private practice with his high school friend Dr. Dean Cherpelis.

Dr. Cherpelis was born and raised in Whitestone, NY and also attended Bayside High School. After Dr. Pappas and Dr. Cherpelis receiving a bachelor’s degree in biology from Queens College, City University of New York, Dr. Cherpelis graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Cherpelis went into private practice with Dr. Pappas where they share the philosophy of providing patients the latest and most up to date dental treatments available.

Dr. Pappas and Dr. Cherpelis have taken hundreds of hours of continuing education to keep up with the latest advances in dentistry. As a result, they have both earned Fellowships in the Academy of General Dentistry and the International Academy of Dental Facial Esthetics. In addition the New York Academy of Dentistry has awarded them with Associate Fellow status in the New York Academy of Dentistry. The fellowships are achievements that only ten percent of the dentists in the United States have accomplished.

Dr. Pappas and Dr. Cherpelis are active in the various local, regional and national dental societies. Dr. Pappas is past vice president of the Hellenic Dental Society He is the current president and was the vice president and secretary of the New York Society of Forensic Dentistry.

Dr. Cherpelis was the past treasurer and vice president of the Hellenic Dental Society, and currently the treasurer and past secretary of the New York Society of Forensic Dentistry.

These are academic study group under the auspices of the New York County Dental Society. They are members of the ADA, NYSDA, QCDS, ASFO and the AAFS. Both doctors continue their studies to advance their knowledge of dentistry in these dental organizations.
